Here is a wonderful German WW1 Hate Belt being sold for a local NE Ohio estate. These are called "hate belts" because the belt was decorated with insignia from dead enemy soldiers.

It is a standard issue WW1 German soldiers leather belt.

When laid flat it measures about  37 inches long by about 1 - 5/8 inches high.

Standard German WW1 Gott Mit Uns buckle.

I have posted photos of all the various insignia. Among the nicer insignia are a Tank Corps badge and a Machine Gun Company collar device. There are buttons from Canada, the US, and the UK.

The last photo shows how the devices are tied to the belt.

The leather belt is a bit dry, but nothing serious.

Overall, I would say that it's in very good condition for it's age.
